The blockchain is available for free by downloading it through the bitcoin client but is growing exponentially and may take the average user considerable time and bandwidth to download on their own. We understand that while it is free, some do not have high enough internet speeds or bandwidth caps and would rather have the blockchain delivered on several DVDs. It is extremely important for us to make sure that our users understand that the blockchain is available for free, and you have a choice in how you receive it.
The DVDs include a copy of the most recent bootstrap.dat file that can be extracted into your bitcoin user directory. There may be a relatively small amount of catching up for the client but is usually minimal.
Shipping is included and DVDs will be sent out via First Class Mail and are delivered in 2-3 business days. Offer is only available for U.S. residents.
